| Import Problem |
Postado em 24/07/2003 12:01 por nospam |
I just downloaded it, installation, server setup and database creation on mysql 4.0.14 is no problem, but i can't import an ms-access file. the wizard just ends with 0 tables created and so on.
i have windows xp, ms-office xp and visual studio 6 installed. and since the program doesn't show any error, i think, i don't need to install DAO 3.5/3.6 explicitly. the mdb file is access2000 or xp format and i wanted to import 1 table from it.
what is going on there? why don't i even get an error message, it just happens nothing.

Hi,
I experienced the same problem myself and after that I decided to track the
problem in the code. You may need to create the database first, instead of
using the wizard to do so. Also, it may work on the second time you run it.
Anyway, I fixed the problem and it's going to be available in the next
version.
Thanks for the feedback,

No, i created the database with dbmanager before (and it was there, i checked it). i tried it several times, no chance. ok, let's wait for the next version. maybe it would be of public interest if you post it on the mysql@lists.mysql.com mailing list (if you didn't already, i don't remember right now).

Hi,
I checked again and found the real problem: when you don't create the log for the import process it fails. Selecting this option everything works as it should and you don't even need to create the db previously.
I didn't post this to the mysql@lists.mysql.com considering that this is not mysql related (it will fail for PostgreSQL users also).
Best Regards, and thanks a lot for the feedback.

Same here. Importing 0 rows from Acces.
Strange forum by the way. I can not see the three replies on your item. gandert
